One random fact down and six to go in the 7 random things meme I was tagged for by Belinda of WHats cooking in a Southern Kitchen.
Today’s random fact is that I love to paint. I am not very good at it and see it more as a therapeutic process and less as a desired resulting work of art.
Truth be told I would probably never hang one of my paintings on the wall, which are all taken up by Dakota’s pictures actually. But I do love to get really messy and I love the freedom of mixing colours and swirling paint.
One way I can transfer this love of colour and form to food, is by decorating cakes, which I also love to do and the end results are a lot better than my canvasses.
The world doesn’t need another painter when we have a cake decorator like that!
Painting is on my list of things to do one day - I’d love to be able to paint gorgeous rich tapestries of colour.
Your cakes are already works of art and better than canvas, cos you can eat them!
PP and Kit, thank you. You aint seen nothing yet. I am working on a “Bollywood” wedding cake at the moment and will take plenty of pics and post about it when done.
Oh, what fun, Inge. You love to paint…and your artistic flair has certainly transferred very successfully to your cake decorating…look at that stunning shade of green!
I have no artistic ability whatsoever, I’m sad to say, and my attempts have always been best left well hidden!
Belinda, how can you say you’re not artistic when you cook, and bake. Besides I’ve seen your blog, you are an artist. Revel in it!
Having always had absolutely ZERO artistic talent, I’ve never really been into painting, although I do envy those who can create beautiful canvases. I’ll just have to stick with my camera & photoshop
