…cook porridge

- Pour a litre of organic semi-skimmed milk into a pot and add around two cups or 500 ml of organic rolled oats
- Bring to the boil then reduce heat to medium high
- Stir constantly for 4-6 minutes to prevent sticking, adding a little more milk if you need to
- Once the oats are cooked through and the porridge is thick place in a bowl and serve with fresh cold milk and a choice of fresh fruit or sweeteners
- I like to use berries, or mandarin slices, or sometimes poached fruits
- honey, spiced brown sugar and maple syrup are all good too.
You may also use salted water instead of milk if you wish.

i always make my porridge with a little orange juice and water (watching my lactose intake). then add plenty of dried fruit, cinnamon and grated apple - yumm!
